2003-2009 Toyota Prius 2nd gen: steering wheel control buttons not working?

    I had a 2nd generation Toyota Prius which had all the control buttons on the steering wheel not working. My regular mechanic suspected that it was the steering wheel sensor assembly cable which was defective. It turns out that he was correct. I made a quick video to show you this repair:

    I discovered my Defrost buttons dont work, but they work when the wheel is turned more than 45 degrees. Might need a clock spring soon, all the other buttons work so it's low priority for me.
