    Hi all,

    First post.

I am looking at buying a base model 2003 for sale. Local private seller. Body in excellent shape, 83K, runs well, clean, needs tires.

Initial inspection - all visible fluids clear, smell good, at proper levels, oil in good shape - not recently changed.

Test drive revealed no obvious quirks. Panic stop with no hands on wheel was perfectly straight and controlled.

They did say that the ECU was replaced last year, and followed the Toyota maintenance shedule (CVT????)

    They are asking $10K.

I am perfectly capable of handling just about every repair, including high voltage work.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks
    Erik

I just bought a 2002 with 13K miles for $11,000 from a Toyota dealership. Knock it down!

You might ask to see the condition of the transaxle fluid - in some cases there are more metal chips. You'd prefer less. Based on what else you've said, this has a high probability of being a high-satisfaction vehicle.
