I have a 2004 Prius and I'm looking at replacing the MFD unit. Do I have to use a 2004 or can I get a newer model like a 2009? I don't have NAV or anything upgraded or hooked up to this MFD. I am going to try the re-sodering that I have read about in these posts but if all else fails, I will need a backup plan.

You're good to use between 2004 - 2006 .... after 2006, you're going to be disappointed when it comes to receiving 100% compatability.

I don't think you can use the 06. That was the year that the MFD changed to a higher resolution. You want an 04 or 05.
