Hi PriusChat, I bought this car in 2006. It has GPS navigation but no backup camera. I purchased an OEM camera and installed it but cannot plug it to anyhting. Does anyone has experience finding where the camera wiring might be hiding?
The connector pin is labeled T13, rear door wiring harness. But if you haven't found it in 19 years, the connector and wires for the camera may not be on your car at all.
"the connector and wires for the camera may not be on your car at all" Thanks! That's what I thought. But there was another event few years ago when I changed the MFD (the multi-function display): The connector (from the car) to the MFD did have wires for the camera. I was wondering where those wires were connected to.
I bought an add-on backup camera at an auto parts store, and had it installed in the parking lot on my 2009 Corolla in about 15 mins. It was a wireless connection, and the screen was incorporated into a mirror that strapped over the original. It was less than $200 as I recall.
Thank you for the wireless add-on backup camera. I did that before and undo it. I am now looking for how to do it, as if it was OEM.
