Vehicle is generally driven in "blended mode," where kit battery assists gas engine in charging stock battery - this means the engine does less work, and uses less gas. System provides Plug In assist for up to 40 miles after each charge. In highway driving, this translates to about a 20-40% improvement in fuel economy. In the city, with some practice, you can really take advantage of this system. With full batteries, you can drive up to a few miles at a time in EV mode. EV mode uses only the electric motor, and can be used at speeds below 34 mph. In local driving, many people see a 40-100% improvement in fuel economy.​
