    Hi!
This is my first post here. I am trying to keep my sanity focus.

My wife has a 2005, red Prius with only about 150000.0 miles on it. The car has been well maintained. She just took it in for routine oil change prepping for our trip south this week.

When Toyota dealer opened hood, they saw chewed fuse box and frayed wires from a rodent; deemed car to be unsafe to drive....

We are trying to get insurance adjuster out to see what can be done. Wife is beside herself.

I am sending this trying to see if there is resolution, determine if there are others here who have been in similar situations, and w.hat were the outcomes.

For what it's worth, my neighbor just had complete electrical similar issue resolve with his Toyota Tundra for $2600.00. My Toyota Tacoma just had electric system replaced for $4700.00.

Any one else having similar "events"?

    Thanks
Tomg (2001 Honda Insight, G1, MT)

    welcome!

yes, you can find many threads here about rodents, repairs and prevention.

unfortunately, the outcome is always the same, customer or insurance pay for repairs.

Do you have pictures you could post?

They did not give you an estimate to fix?

    It's toasted, confirmed... :-( . ($3800.00 to be received, $21k car, age 13, 160000.0 miles, a "puppy")
I have picture but not sure how to post.
We are looking for replacement, hard to absorb loss. RIP!
