So we have an oil leak in our 2005. It is coming from the front of the engine on the passenger side. The oil was changed on May 15th. And it has only leaked since then. Any thoughts on what it may be? What part of the engine deals with oil in that part of the engine compartment? We will take it back to the place that last changed it and have them check it out as well.

    As always, thanks.

    Cheers, Mi3ke

    1. Check the engine oil drain plug at the bottom of the engine, looking for a leak.

    2. Check the engine oil filter.

    3. Check the oil fill cap on top of the valve cover.

    4. It is certainly possible that the tech changing the oil spilled some while adding the new oil. The best bet would be for you to clean the engine, so that you can see whether the oil leak recurs or not. If it recurs you'll have a better chance of finding the origin, if you are starting with a clean exterior.

Ding Ding! We have a winner:
And #1 was the answer! I gave it a quick tighten and took it on in. The tech pinpointed as the oil plug, gave it a twist and I have not had an issue since.

    Thanks.
