So, I have had my 2005 Prius since October 28th, 2005, and have put on nearly 25,000 miles. I was wondering what the stock Integrity's mileage rating is because they're looking pretty worn, and my dealer offers free tires for the life of the car. I've done all of my car's service at the dealer, and they've been very good to me, but I don't want to look like a greedy fool requesting tires too early. The tires have been rotated and balanced at every oil change/service. Thanks in advance.

ours are toast, and have been for a while now, at 27500. you're not out of line at all.

this isn't subjective, they can measure the tread depths if they want a clear indicator it's time for new tires.

I've had my stock tires since August 2005 and I have 46000 miles on my Prius. The tires still seem OK.

I know for a fact that I won't even attempt to drive on them past 30,000 miles...but, I guess I'll just tell my dealer that I want new tires when I go in for my 25,000 mile service. Hopefully they'll give me a choice of tire under a certain dollar value, or put on something better.

yeah if they're free, go for it at the 25k service. no sense driving on bad tires if it won't cost you anything for new ones.

we're also not going much farther on these pieces of crap.

Well, they're free, but I'm not sure on the policy. Like, if I have to wait for the mileage-rating for the tires to be used up to get new ones. That's why I'm trying to find some info on them.

In my case, they were good for 40,000 miles.

Read the fine print of your "free tires" deal. I would guess that it specifies replacement when the current tires' tread depth reaches the legal minimum, typically 2/32", or when the "wear bars" show. I doubt they'd be willing to replace them just because you want new ones. And I wouldn't think the agreement would describe a set mileage. There are too many variables in tire wear, and set mileage could either require them to replace tires with plenty of mileage left -- not good for them -- or allow them not to replace worn out tires -- not good for you!

just about any new tire has wear bars in the grooves of the tread, when the tread reaches these wear indicators its time to change (haven't checked my prius in particular but assume its the same for them)

I just did my 30K rotation on my 06 yesterday, and mine look really good. I would say they are less than 1/2 worn. I've never had it aligned, and don't seem to feel the animosity towards the OEM Goodyears that I see everywhere here. My driving is 90% freeway. Your mileage may vary....

 My, how our expectations change... Can any of you recall when tires did well to get 10,000 miles on a set of tires? They're so much better now. At 22,000 miles on the Integreties on my 2004 Prius {Traded for my 2007} looked good for another 15K. I'm hoping to get a minimum of 40K on the Bridgstone Turanzas on my 2007 Touring.

well, I'm obviously not going to try and get free tires outside of their policy...that would be pointless. But, I also know nothing about tires, so I may just end up buying some decent tires, because I really think these ones are close to being done for. I've been looking around and saw that several 2005 Prii with 20-40,000 miles on them are selling for over 20,000 bucks.....maybe I might go for an 07 Touring....I have a lot to think about, because I sure do love Roxanne, and wanna keep her safe. (and keep me safe, of course)

so I got my free tires a couple days ago. They're BF Goodrich Control Plus P185/65R15 (I had no choice in what they put on my car for free). I just read the spec sheet and see that they have 849 revs/mile @ 45mph...is this something to be concerned about? Don't the Integritys have 855? Or will it not be noticeable? Thanks. Still working on getting a Touring, btw.

day late on this, but my 2006 (2/15/06) has 45,000 on the originals, not seemingly that worn out yet...

I've rotated the tires on the 10's myself (10k, 20k, 30k and 40k). Kept them aired up and that's about it.
