Hello! First time post and member. Hoping you Prius owners can help. My MFD has stopped functioning. Only the side buttons work, no touch screen feedback. Selections from the steering wheel are erratic. My question is 1) Is this common when the MFD goes bell up?
    2) My smart key only starts the car when not inserted into the slot. When inserted you can't power up the car. Is this related and anyone have any suggestions?
I thinking of buying one off E-Bay or Amazon, the MFD that is.

Not sure about the other issues but the smart key issue can occur if somebody replaced the fob case but did not transfer the small RFID part. You will be stranded when the fob battery dies.

Check 12V battery voltage first as well as fuses under the dash to eliminate common causes of electronic trouble. If the 12V battery is bad that can cause all kinds of weird electronic problems. Doesn't really sound like a blown fuse but could always be a possibility.

Thanks for your responses. I thought about the battery. I also own a 2012 Prius so I swapped batteries but still have the same issues
