    Hey guys,

06’ Prius with 297k on the clock.

When I went to start it this morning, it ran for about 2 seconds then threw a check engine light and the triangle of death then sputtered out and stalled. Started it again and it did the exact same thing, ran for a whole FIVE seconds this time, then sputtered out and died again. Bought a code reader, it’s showing a P3190 (Low engine power, thank you Toyota that really helps a lot) There’s a pretty strong gas smell coming from the car as well. Any ideas? My guess is spark plugs or fuel pump but I could be wrong. Any help is appreciated!

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Here is the workup for DTC P3190 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Repair%20Manual/04pruisr/05/2054m/cip3190a.pdf

Are you sure the gas level is correct?
    Have you inspected the MAF?
    Have you inspected the plugs?
    (the workup goes on...)

The engine isn't actually starting, and is only being turned over by the HV battery and only sounds like it could be running and stalling.

Limit the # of starting attempts, else you'll run the HV battery down and no longer be able to start without first recharging the HV Battery.
