    im getting a 2006 prius this year...Just wanted to make sure i'm still eligible for the 2k tax deduction when i do my taxes for 2005...

    Yes, or you can buy the car in January and get an even bigger CREDIT! But be quick about buying one. There is a limit on how many cars can claim the credit.
