A/C has not been blowing cold/hot air for the last year. Had the problem diagnosed last year but did not get it fixed. Don't remember exactly (couldn't find the diagnosis report) but i vaguely remember it as a condenser or evaporator issue. Either way, i know i'm looking at as a very expensive fix, especially if it's an evaporator issue, but would like to know if there's any recommendations for a good auto repair shops specializing in hybrid A/C systems in San Antonio. Can take it to a dealer but not encouraged to spend ~$2K on a 2007 Prius. Hoping an independent repair shop would help save at least a few hundred. Trading the vehicle is another option but a 2007 with bad A/C won't get much in return. Looking to use the car for atleast another 3 years.

Good God I buy these cars for $700 to $1,000 generally speaking and the air conditioning is the least of the problem. But if you're going to really suffer and allow for pay a shop to install an AC evaporator core in your Prius as you've seen by the pictures here and what has to be done you're taking the whole dash out of the car I'm talking all of it You know how many plugs that is? How many plugs that is to remember to plug back up wires not to pinch so on and so forth I've done this in a bunch of other Toyotas It is not a fun job it takes hours 8 10 11 16 . Whatever it is it's long I'd rather change an engine any day I have not had a failed evaporator in the six generation two Prius I've owned so far four of them are sitting here on the property right in front of me now everyone of these cars I've purchased in the Southeast United States where everybody runs the air conditioner forever It seems like. All of them the air conditioning runs immaculately will run you out of the car I have the cars mostly because of either brake accumulator and or electrical / battery problems That's how I get them for next to nothing leather cars with anywhere from 165 to 215K on them car was running fine a minute ago and now raspberry and here we are six cars in. In my world I would probably just literally get another generation too they're falling out of the sky now the used car market is not what it was and well there's that or come down south or somewhere where the cars stay good a lot longer I don't know when I lived in Western Massachusetts. I was coming down to North Carolina and further south to purchase cars to take backup north just for my personal use then when they flintstoned out strip the parts send them to carlotta's up the street the junkyard and go back down south and get another one just takes a minute no big deal.
