    Hello All,

This is my first time here posing on Prius Chat so I thank any and all help!

I bought a 2008 Prius in White Loaded back in December of 2014 with 146,000 miles and its been nothing but a pleasure to own! I now have 155,700 miles on it and have a service appoint scheduled for tomorrow.

I'm about to have my second service done tomorrow and wanted to ask what service is necessary for my vehicle. I know that I should probably have the ATF changed because according to the service records its never been done. Another concern that I have is some other services that the previous owner had done that i don't know if i should have done too. I have written up a word document of my concerns and will copy and paste it below. And if there is a service not listed below please feel free to add it and if you have an estimate on price that would be awesome too!!! I plan to have the servicing done at the dealership, but plan to negotiate as i always to :). I also don't know what my brake situation is, i was told at my last service that they had 50% pad life left and that they were the original brakes.

Thank you so much for your help!!!!

    oil and filter yes

brake inspection yes, but it most likely won't need anything unless someone drove the car wrong. pads and shoes usually go 180k+

4 qts genuine Toyota WS atf definitely

vehicle inspection should be free at any shop, when they find a problem that's how they make money.

    fluid top off yes diy

    recalls yes

induction service, if you noticed any crud around the throttle valve when you changed the air filter, you should clean that out with a lint free cloth sprayed with throttle body cleaner. don't just hose the throttle valve down with the cleaner even though that's what it says on the can, spray the cloth and wipe the gunk off the throttle valve and the bore.

a/c evap clean, only if it stinks. otherwise just spray fridge-fresh or something like that into the cabin filter opening with the blower on.

top engine clean? not likely to need that.

What is the difference between a drive belt and a serpentine belt? They are one and the same.

I suggest you have the PCV valve replaced now since that did not appear on either of your lists.

Which "water pump" are you referring to? If you are not referring to the engine coolant pump, that should be inspected for coolant weeping at the bearing weep hole, and replaced if the weeping is more than trivial.

The inverter and engine coolants are supposed to be replaced at 120K miles so since that did not show up on your list, that should be done now.

Thank you for your help! I just found in the records the PCV was done at 93,000 miles and i do not know which water pump was replaced its just listed as a water pump on Toyota Owners and CarFax. Do you know the estimate for the two coolant changes?

    Thank you!

Also at 93,000 miles and now at 156,700 Miles do you think the PCV valve should be changed again?

No, it should be good easily for 100K miles.

I would skip the injector service unless you have an engine problem that the service might help.
