Hello--just bought a used 2008 in November. Everything was great until about 2 weeks ago. Slow traffic in NYC and all of a sudden, a bunch of lights come on. Long story short, we take it to our mechanic and it produces the code: P0A93: the water inverter pump. We replaced. Then the brake light started and brakes felt like they weren't grabbing. Now, car is completely dead and we are being told 12v bettery is no good.

    Is this a common occurrance?!

Does anyone in the NYC area have a good hybrid/prius mechanic they can recommend? Our usual one does not deal with electornic or hybrid issues.

    Thank you.

If the 12v is original from 2008, then it would be no surprise that it's dying. Changing batteries are quite a common occurrence in a car. Every 5 years....
