    Hello,
I have 2008 Prius parked for almost 3.5 months on my driveway and my neighbor start the car and kept idle for 10 minutes for every week. Now when I start the car it stars and change the reverse gear the car is not moving reverse, but I do hear click sound when I change reverse gear. Moreover the car is parked on my driveway which is upward slope. No issue with both batteries.
Please if anyone encountered such issue please advice what to do and how to get the car in working conditions.
    Thanks
    mka

Your 12v batt could be low because the Smart Key System uses battery power, and 10-mins is probably not enough to charge it back up. This assumes you did not turn off the smart key system (on/off switch under the steering wheel). as Bisco said the most obvious thing is you have drained 12v...you can try to recharge but you may need a new one. The things you could have done is turn off SKS or have trickle change on 12v batt, or just disconnect 12v.

Fully charge the 12V battery, then see what happens. 10 min a week does almost nothing for the 12V battery.

All kinds of weird things happen with low 12v (see our famous thread ...Weird things happening?...)
Also we have lots of threads how to test the 12v

The car will start up, but in an unknown condition. Remember, this is not making an engine turn over. It is booting up computers. If the voltage dips low enough in the process, some aspect will not initialize properly. That is why 12V paranoia is so strong on PriusChat.

He said it was parked on a slope. Is it possible the parking pawl is stuck? Will it go into D? Try having somebody help push or rock the car when you shift it out of P to relieve the pressure on the parking pawl.

Hi Karan. You say you hear some clicking noises but haven't told us if the engine is starting. Don''t leave us to make assumptions, can you verify that the engine still runs when you place the prius in ready mode and leave the transmission in "P".

BTW. How many "bars" of charge are indicated on the HV battery display.
