    Is this a 2009 or 2010??

    http://mpgvalues.com/images/2009_toyota_prius.jpg

i was wondering if this image was a 2009 pic or a guess at the 2010 model, i love the styling of this car and was hoping it was an actual production vehicle, however toyota updated it's site to 2009 model year but no new images making me think this is another mock up of the 2010 prius. Sad if it is since this car will never be made.

I'm hoping this is a 2010, the picture came out before toyota announced the gen 3 would be a 2010 model so that might explain the name in the link, but since the 2009 is out and looks the same as the 2008 this is probly just another guess at what the gen 3 would look like.

It does look like a sweet ride though.

This picture has been floating around for quite a while. The common consensus was that it's a photoshop. There are a few reasons. For one, Toyota has adopted a different grill like the Camry and Yaris. Secondly, the back looks way too much like a late-model 280ZX. Lastly, Toyota has been very secretive with their new cars. For one thing, announcing how cool their next model will be can damage the sales of their existing models as people wait for the new, cool one. Distributing a photo shoot like this way before release is too uncharacteristic.

yeah i kinda figured, my hopes are now throughly dead >_< hopefully toyota hasn't gone and made the front end to much like that japanese mock up floating around, the front of that just doesn't look like it fits the car.

That picture was made by a British magazine, to sell magazines, not cars. ;) Total BS. As usual. Search this site for the "spy shots" of the 2010 model. The only pics. you will see of the 2010 that are real -should- show tape etc. covering the car, to disguise it. If it has no tape there is something wrong.

The 2009 is the final production run of the current model. It appears there is nothing special about it. Too bad. Usually the final cars of a run get some special treatment. But you do get the cars with -all- the bugs worked out of them. :)
