Ok first my 2009 Prius doesnt seem to have an aux port. The previous owner seems to have modded it to include what I think is a connector for an ipod/iphone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I want to connect so that I can listen to music in my car. Now I am not sure what to do from here. Should I get a converter to convert the iphone connector to a mini usb or to an aux, or should I do something different? Pics below is what it looks like.

should have an aux port in the center console.

yes the po did add some kind of adapter; you'll need to d&a the dash to find out just what it is.

if they make an adapter for the iphone plug to mini usb, that would be the easiest way. if they don't make an adapter, next would be to d&a the dash to see what kind of unit that cable is hooked to. the dash comes apart pretty easy, only tools you need are a plastic prying tool, a phillps screw driver and a 10mm nut driver. if you're near nova, I can help if you don't think you can get the dash apart yourself.
