    Hello,

I want to know if the MPG is expted to be better in an 09 prius compared to an 08.

I rented 08's before and averaged 40-42 mpg driving on the highway at 70-80mph. My current prius I own is an 01 and averages 30-32mpg only:(

I am going to be commuting 1000 miles soon in an 09 prius and watned to know if I can expect 45-49 mpg as shown on fuel economy website?

    Thanks!

Not at those speeds. With firmware updates the 2004-2009 all have the same fuel economy. Better MPGs require slowing down, and inflating the tires to 42/40 PSI front/rear.
