2010 engine block heater

    Ok I was thinking about getting an engine block heater for my 2010 Prius but the dealer said there is no part number for the 2010 and a engine block heater is "not recomended or even necessary on the 2010." Has anyone heard this before. Rick

    The Block Heater (for sale on the Prius Chat shop) works perfectly on the 2010. I installed one in mine last year before winter hit. It won't make the car instantly warm, but it does decrease the warmup time for cabin heat.
    Can do it yourself, allow for at least four hours if you don't have someone assisting you who's done it before. We had to go in from the top and the bottom, as well as loosening the cable holds.
