Now that I have my new 2010 Prius IV, I need to get these windows tinted. That LA sun is a beating. Any recos? Thanks in advance.

I can't post the website because I'm a junior member.

    Tint Factory
    2033 S. La Cienega Blvd
    Los Angeles, CA 90034
    (310) 815-1013

They tinted my '07 Tahoe and my Prius (all windows). I am going back to get the sunroof tinted as well.

Highly recommend. They use 3M tint with a lifetime warranty.

They are located on La Cienega just north of the 10 on the west side of the street behind Al & Ed's Autosound (don't go there!).

    How come?

I just got my Gen III tinted at Al & Ed's in Venice because they offer Johnson's Greystone (a brand I like and trust, especially with the lifetime warranty) and they did an excellent job for $200 (10 windows.)

Nick's Glass Tinting in Venice has a good deal, about $180-200 for all 10 windows and highly recommended on Yelp.

Going in this weekend for mine.

A question for all of you who've tinted your Prius. Did they apply to the rear window in strips (along the rear window defroster lines) or as a single piece? I just visited a website that suggests a quality tint shop does a single piece rather than in strips, but doesn't this affect the operation of the rear defroster?

That looks kinda interesting. I never thought they would actually offer a lifetime warranty. That's cool.

The yelp reviews of California Tint in Rosemead, CA look good. When I decide to tint, I'll probably take it there.

There's a tint shop at the La Habra swap meet (the old drive-in). They're open every day... I did mine while shopping - cost was like $79 for back two windows, and back 2 tiny windows (I already had the rear done by myself). Perfect job...

Sunshield is in Sherman Oaks, on Van Nuys Blvd right next to the 134 so it's really easy to get to from Glendale. It's a little tricky finding how to access it. Basically if you're heading west on the 134, turn left onto V.N. Blvd. then right after you go under the freeway it's on your left, right next to the east bound onramp. Turn left on that first side street and park in the back.

I got mine done there. Got Madico-Winslos, whatever it's called, the ceramic one on all windows for $225 and for another $85 they did my windshield (no noticeable tint, just for UV to protect the dash and keep heat out). Then I went back to get that little window under the spoiler done and they charged me $20 for that and had them fix a couple tiny imperfections.

What I'm wondering now is if the rear hatch window and the little window under the spoiler are the same shade of tint/hue from the factory. I got mine tinted the very next day so I have no idea. But when I got the little window done the guy said it would be a different hue since it's already got factory tint on it. I told him I didn't get any tinting done by Toyota and I can't imagine why that would be but now the little window is more bronze than the other one. I'm now thinking that maybe he didn't look up what kind of tint I had gotten before and didn't use the Madico but used the standard, less expensive Lumar or whatever they use, some 3M product. Does anyone know if that is more brown than Madico? I'm going to call them up tomorrow in any case...

Still I'm happy with them and am going to get an estimate for some of my house's windows.
