Hello all. Have owned my 2011 Prius for just over 3 months now. It has 120k miles. It just recently (last week or so) started making this very quiet knocking sort of noise when traveling at low speeds. As soon as I get above 11-12mph it goes away. It happens regardless of if I’m running on electric or gas motor. My oil levels seem to be OK and clean. I had a 2nd Gen 2007 before this and do not remember ever hearing this noise. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks for the help!

could be your brake actuator, 3 way coolant valve, or hvac vent flap

Sounds like it’s wheel speed related. Very reminiscent of a CV joint knock or brake pad knock. Do you live in the Rust Belt by chance? You would be wise to take it to your local mechanic and have the brakes and front suspension inspected.

Check the tires? For example: you ran over freshly painted lane marker, and there's residue making a bit of sound, till it scrubs off.
