2012 Prius c Water Seal Issue

    Hey y'all, recently got a car wash and the seals on top of my car were rotted and got shredded. Not really sure what to call them and not sure about the replacement or repair process. Anyone have any idea on if this is an at home job or if I need to take the car to the dealership?

    Taking a car this old to dealership is like asking someone to steal all your money out of your bank account. Toyota Stealerships are warranty specialists for new cars. There job is to get as much money out of Toyota doing warranty repairs.

    These roof trim strips are easy to remove at any local junk yard without any tools. Or you can buy one online... Make sure you clean under there before putting the replacement on. Also looks for cracks in the welds and put glue over them if you find any. Lastly the little metal tabs on the roof sometimes get bent out of position and can easily be bent back with a pair of needle nose pliers.

    Honestly never go to dealerships, especially here in LA they're the worst so not sure why I said that rather than shop. Appreciate the guidance on personally replacing them, that's going to be my plan of action.
