Im looking at a 2013 V that took a pretty good hit in the nose, both front air bags deployed and the passenger curtain .have not seen it in person so Im not sure if the frame rails got nailed too... from the info I was sent all the warning light are on but the ICE will not start .. is there a fuel cut off like on the fords if so where is it or is this because the air bags blew..

not sure if im going to go for it or not..
just seeing if its a simple fix for the ice to start.

i wouldn't touch a car like that without the trouble codes and service manual, unless it was too cheap to resist.

I believe when the bags deploy, they set a code in the ECU and will take work to get it to clear.

A ten foot pole comes to mind for the distance to het to the considered candidate ;).

    As a parts car it’s a great investment ;).

But it takes time and space to recoup the initial spend:(.

If you have time and space, it can be worthwhile for parts(y).

With that guise, I’d move into something else;).

Out here in the state of Prii, there are plenty of wrecks that the bags don’t get deployed that get salvaged and resold. If that’s your cup of tea, keep an eye out(y).

Oh they charge premiums out here for parts:cool:.

But you can still get good deals from time to time :).

The key is to shop ahead and not when needed;).

Avoid the “over the barrel” treatment (y).

    Maybe approach it this way:

    • Could you adapt what is there?
    • Do you have the time to adapt it?
    • Will it be worth it in the end to do so?
More questions to consider on your potential project(y).

I’m not sure it’s worth to have the Prius restored since the air bags are expensive. Who knows what else the front end was damaged with. 2k is more worth for as a parts car though haha.

I think Steve at autobeyours.com has a v that was totaled from the rear. He may have some advice about the one you are considering...
