    Hello.

Recently picked up v Five with 88K miles.
I believe some maintenance is due soon (or past?)

Thinking about doing a transmission fluid change soon.

When do I change/flush coolant for (the engine & inveter)?

    Thanks

    Thank you.

Can I use any brand for brake fluid? or do I have to use the Toyota brand?

Use the Toyota coolant for sure. Brake fluid I would ideally use Toyota but others work.

Absolutely use Toyota transaxle fluid! It directly cools the electric motors. You don't want to short out the high voltage inside the transaxle.

The issue with brake fluid is doing it properly in a hybrid master cylinder that is really brake by wire. There is a brake line only method (search Prius Invalid Mode) that is simpler but its critical not to let the reservoir run out of fluid. I would let a dealer do it unless you invest in a Techstream scanner.

Overall the most critical thing on a gen3 is 5k mile or sooner oil changes. The car can easily become an oil burner or worse.
