I have a 2021 Prime with the big infotainment system that has Apple Carplay only. Typically I only use the bluetooth connectivity on the display and climate control and nothing else, becasue I am an Android user. I am wondering if anyone has tried any Carplay AI boxes on the 11.6" displays. How well they do they work and what they look like on such a large display that is in Portrait mode. Some examples of some of the newer solutions can be found here: There are some suggested systems at carplaylife, however I am not able to link directly to them, speciifcally some at top-5-best-carplay-ai-box-adapters-in-2025-which-carplay-ai-box-should-you-buy I have no affiliation with carplay life and just wanted to see if anyone has any experience.
I have one, but would not roccomend it. You leave it plugge din and it will randomly drop the connection about 25-30% of the time. I am on heer to try and find if anyone has successfully replaced the head unit with one that accpets Android Auto. If you do go for something that will translate Android Auto into CarPlay, it will only be on the top half of the screen and you will have the music player or climate control on the bottom half. At least that is what I currently have.
