I was able to watch my 2023 Prius Prime charging with Dr Prius (iOS) with VEEPEAK OBD2 BLE adapter during the initial charge from ----% till "20 minutes to full charge" (Dr Prius showed 116%)

Now that the car is showing SOC 100% and "Charge Completed", Dr Prius is telling me "Error X Sorry, your vehicle is not supported"

Anyone else using Dr Prius experienced this?

Took out the VEEPEAK reader for 30 minutes, then connected with Car Scanner, then tried Dr Prius again - success - Shows SOC: 115% for the car's SOC: 100%.

The Primes nave been showing over 100% SOC in drprius when the car shows 100% SOC for as long as Prime has been supported. I noticed today it looks like that may have changed recently, but I still have 45 minutes or so at 8 amp charge rate till full 100% SOC.
If you can get voltages at 100% and ----- that would be kool. And the (blade voltage difference) drprius is showing for your car. Our 2017 - 100% soc is 374.++ volts and --- is 330 volts and my blade voltage diff is 0.01 volt. Pack temps are 83 F and current temp showing on the dash is 81 F..

Our 2017 Prime DrPrius is now showing 80 something % SOC when the pack if fully charged. So there are no more yellow colored lines in the moving charge level graph anymore. DrPrius at 110 % SOC changed all the green moving charge level graph lines to yellow and it was interesting to watch as the changed color from yellow to green as the SOC in DrPrius came down to around 100% .
The pic is this morning with 0.1 EV miles left and starting the charge at the cars 8 amp setting. 5jul2023-0.1ev-P1020447.jpg

That is really cool - I have not figured out how to get charging data or that level of detail from my 2023 Prime displays.

with the 2017 that charging screen from the MID shows up when the car is plugged in and one of the doors is open. No need for the car to be in READY, ON of ACC to see that screen. I hope your 2023 does the same.
It only took 7 hours to fully charge. not 10 like the estimate indicated. It's only the second time I've done a full charge using the 8 amp setting, it will be interesting to see if that estimate changes the more I use the 8 amp charge setting.
Ah, DrPrius is now reporting 86.6(x)? %SOC after a full charge, but the yellow voltage graph lines still show up the way they always have. I'll have to see at what %SOC the yellow lines start turning back to green.
    A couple more pics

I have changed the Charge Settings from Max to the lower 8Amp in the Primes Charge setting. The max setting has been calculated by other 2017 to 2022 Prime owners to be approximately 12Amps. Don't forget there are losses between the kilowat meter read and the Primes Charger, and further loses between the Primes charger and traction pack. Than there are more loses between the traction pack and usable energy at the wheels.

    TOO QUICK TO MARK SOLVED

Again seeing "Your vehicle is not supported" with Dr Prius, and prior "tricks" are not working.

Car Scanner does not seem to have any problems, connects every time.

Have to see if there is some support - considering that I paid for the app more than 10 years ago I can't well expect free support, but we'll give it a shot to [email protected]

with car scanner you have to disconnect it before closing the app or it hangs onto / hogs the bluetooth connection and doesn't allow DrPrius to connect.
Not sure if that is your issue, but I was confused by it the first few times it happened to me.
DrPrius releases the bluetooth connection as soon as you close the app, so it's not one of those things that workis both ways, if you know what I'm sayin? ;)

Right, but Not a solution. The [email protected] got back to me saying they need access to a 2023 PP to add a profile for the car.

In the mean time, when Dr prius works it is providing valuable insights.

Do the traction pack block temps along with cell and pack voltages in CarScanner match what shows in DrPrius (when it connects)?
I use CarScanner almost exclusively for engine intake air temps and coolant temps when it's cold (below 60 F ) for warmup cycle timing mostly but also for what the temps are when the engine will restart. That is in HV mode staying within the EV range which is about 30amps max in DrPrius from my cold weather test suite.
I use the all sensors feature and luckily the engine intake air and coolant temps for both a 1/2 page scroll down the list. The traction pack sensor readings are way down near the bottom and are mixed in with 6 or 7 other full pages of sensors, so not that easy to find unless you're into scanning all the sensors in the Prime.

There are a few posts in the 2017-2022 Prime section about watts used from the wall. search using priuschat along with what you're looking for specifically. I read your other post and wonder if there are any other 2023 Prime owners yet that are that far into gauge and meter reading. I hope there are a least one or two others, we'll see shortly, I suspect.

I can't get Dr. Prius to connect to my 2023 at all - I get "ReadVIN IO error: BT socket closed, read return -1"
Torque connects fine, I have the same VeePeak ODB2 scanner you do.

    iOS or Android?

    My configuration:

    - iOS 16.5.1 on iPhone X
    - Dr Prius app version 3.4.15 (105)
    - "Genuine" VEEPEAK OBD2 BLE (old)

I've sometimes had to pull the adapter for some time, sometimes had to start the car, sometimes get connection timeout, sometimes not supported and every once in a while my trons behave and it connects.

I am using the android version, which might explain why it fails in a *different* way! Haven't managed to get it to connect at all.

I saw a reference to an Android app for Toyota called Hybrid Assist or something like that - don't know if it will know about the 2023 models, but it claimed to be better than the Toyota App.

Hybrid Assistant and Tire Assistant are similar to Car Scanner in depth of sensor data. It covers a lot of sensors in the Prius. Tire Assistant was developed by the same team that developed Hybrid Assistant and gives tire pressure and TPMS sensor id 's.
Jack from DrPrius and his team are still working on 2023 model year compatibility. DrPrius didn't support Gen4 Prime in 2017 either.
