Does anyone know what the 3 blue LED lights on the right side of the dash represent? As the prime was plugged in, I think I first noticed 1 blinking blue, then that one stayed on all the time and then the second one was flashing, and then that one stayed on, and finally the 3rd one started flashing. This took place over an extended amount of time.

    What do you think?

There is so much to learn on this edition . . . just when I think I know it, another item of question appears LOL.

Go back to the dealer and tell them they stiffed you for the manuals.

Go here and download one from the resources tab.

It's the battery charge status while charging. It's for people who have to sit in their car while charging. Try it sometime, let me know how long the second blue led starts blinking and the first one is on constantly, then when you get to the third one blinking with the second and first one on constantly. let me know how long that took:D

The LED lights on passenger side of the dash, light up sequentially as your Prime is charged. All 3 light up when fully charged. This system of lights or a variant, is on a lot of plug-ins I've seen.
No I didn't read the bloody manual; who has time for that!

I have no trouble with people who don't read the manual and keep their ignorance to themselves, it is those who want us to read it to them I question.

Oh come on now! Haven't you ever been lazy? It's fun, enjoy! Besides, who wants to read War and Peace with all the references and cross references and tertiary references, just to answer a simple question? It's more fun and socially rewarding to just ask for help.
Relax, take your shoes off, and be vulnerable. It's ok!

you don't need to respond if you don't want to or if your think it is a stupid question. by replying with some of your responded is not going to stop people from asking, Also there are many subtle things that are not printed that may add some additional insight. Anyone that owns an iPhone is very familiar with that

Some of us may have manuals but choose to keep them at home. And then the only opportunity to really ask is when we are in front of a chat forum on our computers. When were home we felt to remember to look it up is not being lazy, it's just not remembering at a convenient time

The really cool thing about this situation is, you can download a searchable PDF for free in a few seconds, and be able to find this stuff yourself faster than you can ask about it on a forum. I even have a copy of both manuals on my phone. Finding that page number for this one took about 10 seconds.

If the OP downloaded the manual, as I recommended, he'll be able to answer most of his own questions faster than we could answer them for him.

the lights are a nice feature. in the pip, you have to climb in and fire it up to see how much charge you have.

I thought those lights were for Ready, Set. Go. Now I feel foolish waiting 5 hours 20 minutes in the car start up process.

I read the entire manual suite... Well, not the tire one or the warranty one.. I know, I'm an overachiever. Always have been... It's a curse I live with every day... :)

I've "read" the major manuals too. Skimmed some parts, but damned if I can remember where everything is. The "download the .pdf versions" is very good advise. You can search for anything you want to know. I do it all the time.;)

I salute your dedication! I gave up after the aforementioned repeated cross-referencing in the manuals frustrated my efforts to use the manuals. Now I just use them as reference manuals if I'm unable to figure out a particular puzzle.

It's odd. I've had my Prius Prime for just over a year, and I never saw those blue lights before today. I also read all the manuals when I got the car, but there is way too much to absorb or remember, far too many buttons, and the awful Entune system with no CD player.

I noticed the blue lights the first time I charged. I figured they were like the four blue lights on my portable phone charger battery pack that blink while I'm charging it. And when I read the manual (I don't have time to NOT read it), I found out I was right.

Have you not charging the car, or maybe it is always set on timer during night when you are asleep. ;)
