Reasons why I would prefer this to the Yaris hybrid that we get in Europe:
    - Styling (front, back, inside and out this looks better)
    - Center gauges (like the first two Yaris generations and Prius as we know it)
    - Aerodynamics (cw of 0.28 vs. Yaris 0.287, although this might improve in hybrid trim)
    - Prius gadgets like the hover-buttons on the steering wheel.

    Reason against
    - I don't care much for the steering wheel and its 4 spokes, but I can live with that.

So. Who will join me in finding out the cheapest and easiest way to import this gem to EU?

This is awesome. Is it just me, or does anyone else think the engine compartment is extremely messy compared to the Third Generation?

Kind of reminds me of the Old Windows "Tubes" screensaver.

What can I say? I don't think I can tell from pictures. I'm really going to have to see this in person.

I hope Clazzio quickly makes a seat cover, because the upholstery looks cheap IMO.

I am thrilled that Toyota is making a more affordable hybrid. Gets more butts inside the Prius badge. I am disappointed that they played it way too safe with this one. The concept I knew was overstyled but I hoped that Toyota would grow some balls and keep some of design elements. Instead, we get a Fit or Accent look-alike. I'm not liking the standard shifter either. You could save so much space by reducing the gear selector into something else. Really, it's four modes that we need: P, R, N, and D. Consult Apple on interfacing with technology. The Prius dared to be different and hit a home run. But maybe Toyota thinks in order to hit critical mass, you have to make it more accessible, meaning more familiar. This project is clearly aimed at increasing customer base with existing technology, with minimal R&D. I was hoping for something more.

Really cheapo looking interior - especially the back lift gate. the instrument cluster looks OK.

When you criticise the interior and mention an exterior detail (the hatch is part of the exterior), you will have to be more specific as to why the interior looks cheap. Plastic and body painted metal is standard in this class.

Speaking for me? In comparison to my Honda Fit, which is also a sub-compact. 2 things strike me as slightly less appealing.

The upholestry on the seats, looks cheap. It wouldn't be a deal breaker, but Clazzio's would be a must, assuming Toyota doesn't offer an upgrade in this area.

My Fit has cloth seats, but IMO they look better.

I don't think the tailgate looks cheap, but what I don't like is the bump created when the back seats are layed flat. Again NOT a deal breaker..but that does seem to be a big bump and that can make loading objects into the back much more challenging. I think Toyota could of done better.

The rest of the vehicle looks great to me. Or at least very comparable to similar vehicles within the class.

I was just referring to the person whom I quoted. I agree with you on the upholstery. I always get the upgraded cloth/leather in my cars as I rarely find the standard planes of grey cloth appealing. My Prius didn't benefit much from this, but my iQ looks much better with leather seats, steering wheel and gear knob. The seats even have a different design, and I'm pretty sure they are better padded as well.

The searing orange paint in the engine compartment hides the orange high voltage wires well lol. (well, at least in the photos. I'm sure they're more noticeable in real life)

Does anyone know interior measurements? Would like to compare driver headroom/legroom.

The C II I test drove has the EV button but no Power button.

    So it's ECO and EV.

Are those turn signals in the side view mirrors ?, I'll be pretty angry if the C got them and my 28k v wagon didn't.
