4,500 miles/Maint. reqiured light on

    Yesterday, my maintenance required light came on. It only stayed lit for a few seconds. This morning it did the same thing. Could it be that it is nearing oil change time? Any info would be helpful.

    Yes. It is reminding you that it is about time to think about your 5,000 mi. oil/filter change. It will get more persistent with time.

    Yes, it's trying to remind you it's time for an oil change. First it'll start by blinking for a bit, then it'll increase the time blinking. Finally at 5,000 it'll be steady and continuous. If you're going to change the oil yourself, you can reset the reminder. It will reappear 4,500 miles after it's reset.

    I thought it was every 5K regardless of when it is reset. Could be wrong...

    It will flash at u after 4500 miles. It will stay on after 5000 miles. It's just a reminder.

    Do you mean the car does not change its oil itself? I thought the car was self-sufficient. :blink:
