At 4979 miles I had used 110.48 gallons for a calculated MPG of 45.1.

Now the car is up to 9k miles and the MPG looks about the same, maybe a tad higher. When I hit 10k it will be time to enter all the numbes into my spreadsheet and run the "offocial" calcs.

No idea how many gallons as I'm far too lazy to add them all up, but over the course of ~16 tanks I'm averaging 46.7mpg with a little over 4900 miles on the odometer.

My current tank looks like it might become my highest yet, I'm about 160 miles into it and am already at 50.2mpg in normal, everyday driving. My car goes into Toyota tomorrow for its 5K mile servicing.

I adopted Priapus on August 26, 2004. I'm just going to add to this post rather than making a bunch of "updating" replies.

We've had our used 2001 for about 6 weeks.

    1622 miles
    356 gallons
    45.5 mpg

However, the first few tanks were a learning period, at 44mpg for the first 800 miles' we've been around 47 for the last 800 or so, and in the current tank (not included above) I'm at 50.6 over about 150 intown miles :)

I have no idea. Just not that obsessive.

There's something like 10,000 miles on the car. No tank below 45, got as high as 52 once. I've been averaging around 47-48.

You could just do what other vehicle drivers do, "well it's rated at 55 - 60 so regardless of climate, driving stye, and terrain I must be averaging somewhere in there."
