Just received my 45k Maintance reminder. Is this something everbody does or if no problems don't worry about it....Iv'e always been one to maintain my vehicles, but I don't want to through my money away for no reason....The price for this will be $35.00...Not even sure what this would cover for Toyota to look at this...What do I get for a maintance check....Any info would be a great help, Should I or Shouldn't I.

You should read and follow your maintenance booklet. A large fraction is pretty easy DIY if you search this forum for tutorials. I also recommend the Bentleys repair manual.

I respectfully disagree. This is all you have to do:

(and using synthetic oil, you'll likely not end up changing at 45K miles anyway)

    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...70-what-services-you-need-what-you-don-t.html

The list was put together by a hybrid specialist. Just because Toyota money takers SAY you MUST do it to keep a warranty valid, does not mean it must be done. If you go into the service department and ask, "what's the MINIMUM NECESSARY to keep my warranty valid". Prepare to hear them hum haw.
