Today the odometer says 50,000 miles. The only thing I've done besides the services (which amount to little more than changing the oil) is replacing the original tires with a set of Michelin Hydroedge tires.
I'm looking forward to the next 50,000 miles. I love this car.

I should hope ANY car is capable of making 50,000 miles. Let me know when you get to 250,000.

Hey, these are young cars. His is an '04, so that's at least 25,000 miles a year. It will be awhile before it hits 250,000, even at that rate, Mr GM... :p

Congrats, Dave! At the rate I drive, it'll take me 5 years to get to 50,000!

    Dave-
I had a saturn with the standard goodyears and put the hydroedge on ... and wow what a difference@!
sadly, my toyota dealer would not upgrade my tires so i am here to ask how is your mileage with the hydroedge? better - worse or about the same?
    thanks

I expect to hit 50,000 in the first 11 to 13 months. Good to hear you made it without breaking a sweat..

I have been for quite awhile, having went back to 0 starting with a new Prius. That 50,000 is a very exciting journey... now only 2 months from completing for me!

Of course, that distance is nothing. Your Prius is just finding it's stride... now that you are well broken in!

As far as I can tell (there are so many variables) I get about 1 mpg less with the hydroedges. They do handle better, though.
