    Seems awfully complex...

    Needs a distrobution system for distilled water?!?!
    Water will freeze?!?!

    Not sure it will see the light of day

    It seems like a filter might work just fine for the water. To prevent freezing, perhaps a heater or even some ethanol might help?

    Ethanol.. good idea nate.. but.. does ethanol seperate from water?

    I have a couple of concerns with this concept. The first one involves the thermal efficiency of the ICE. Until the motor warms up, it's efficiency is greatly reduced (just ask any Prius owner who has a short commute). Unless there is a practical reason for having an ICE that you can rest your hand on, it's better to have the engine block nice and hot.

    My other concern is that steam is great for removing oil from metal. This is good for cleaning the outside of engines, but I would be concerned that the steam generated in the cylinder would tend to strip the oil from the cylinder walls, reducing the lubricating film.
