    Hi guys,
    I'm looking for a quick way to tell if my gasoline engine is running or not.
    I've found that the MFD display is not always accurate on that point.

    What I want to do is rig up a simple set of lights or LED lights on my dash to indicate two
    simple things for me;

    - whenever my gasoline engine is on and running

    and

    -whenever my friction brakes are engaging as opposed to just the regenerative back braking
    from the generator. I cannot tell the difference between the two and when they are happening.

    My 2004 seemingly has no define way of indicating that to me.
    Is there a simple way to tap into the wiring and rig an indicator lamp for these two things?

    thanks,

    I use a (two actually) ScanGauge-II which shows me RPM and HP (amongst other useful things) - my second SC-II was from eBay - a very useful and easy mod! - hope this helps - Wil
