A good name for a 'green' cab company?

    You know I'm a cabbie with an eco conscience. Well, presently I work for a co-operative of drivers in my town but have a good number of loyal customers and more than a few who have suggested I start a 'green' taxi company of my own.

    Well with times being hard over here (still) I have had plenty of time to consider the ramifications of setting up my own 'green' cab company using hybrids for sure and maybe a fully electric car such as the Nissan Leaf or similar future models. The plan would be a town/city based company using vehicles which significantly reduce emissions and would appeal to those with an eco conscience as well as your average joe. I've learnt from driving a cab that you must never alienate your customers!

    One thing that has eluded me though is what to call the company! It can't be something too obvious or corny or something that would age quickly, but equally it should reflect what the company is about.

    OK I'll cut the crap - What should I call this company? Any ideas?

    That would be a great idea and good luck. First thing that comes to mind is Eco-Cabs. I'll keep thinking along with others but that is a clean simple name that will not become obsolete anytime soon. Just thought of another one . You could call it Green mile taxi or cab

    It was the first one I thought of too but it's been used already by many other similar enterprizes in the Country. OK I could legally use it in my town but I'd be after something more original but easy to remember too. 'Green Cabs' is too erm, green. EZ cabs is cheesy. Economy cabs sounds cheap. Enviro cabs sounds wrong. I'd thought about EV Cabs, but that limits the choice of vehicles and range and ultimately earning power. Then there was Clean Cabs but that just sounds like I wash them rather than clean emissions.

    Hoping for that elusive 'something' that I just can't place my finger on. Something a bit different. SmogFree Cabs? It almost works but just doesn't. Maybe something electrical? Circuit Cabs or Power Cabs but they just don't sound right either.

    Come on fellow Prius people, I'm relying on your brains here.

    What about ZE Cabs? Or ZEro Cabs? (ZE for Zero Emissions)?

    I always joke my car has "Hybrid Smug Drive".

    Or Clean Green Cab Company.

    I would agree playing on electric would limit you. How about Gaia cabs or environs cab.
    Here is one you could put C.C.C on the cabs "Carbon Conscious Cabs" If you want me to stop I will but I like the last one.

    Get it? (It's a pun.)

    Cab Eco = Cabbie Co.

    That contains "eco" part and cabbie, like most -ie words is "affectionate" and thus somewhat friendly.

    (If you were a woman maybe I'd suggest ShEco Cabs. :p)

    I say "unfortunately" because I tried to come up with something that combines the following:
    efficient
    smooth
    quiet
    friendly

    Efficient has many different positive connotations without necessarily putting off anti-greens. It can be green, resource friendliness, thrifty, reliable and honest. While even your more conservative riders enjoy the Prius, they might not have called had they known in advance. You'd have to rely on word of mouth to get the "antis" on board, otherwise you need to be sure there's a sufficient market for a dedicated "eco" service,

    In the city the Prius gives a smooth, quiet ride. (I actually thought of silkworm in relation to the smoothness. Would allow for a friendly symbol but doesn't reflect everything you want to say.)

    And obviously a friendly company is appealing. Cab rides are a more personal service than public transport.

    Even if I can't help, I hope the ideas prompt somebody else.
