I think the current Consumer Reports is our best source. Their former anti-Prius tendencies have finally retired or laid off and left the payroll.

Bob, I believe there is a lot about this survey you would like.
As I recall, there are a number of your issues with the CR reports that this survey does a much better job on.
I don’t believe it is more valid, due to the small number of respondents (193), however their methodology is plainly laid out.
I also enjoyed the method used to weed out bad actors.

Here is a link to the survey results and methodology. Tesla Model 3 Owners Survey

I thought the survey was clever. Just such a detailed survey for one model doesn't really support comparisons with other products ... not that I care. SuperCharger capacity with CHAdeMO fall back works for me.

Good point, this survey has no comparison tools. I believe it is simply an attempt to give people a better idea of the rate of issues.

Model 3 early adopters tend to be an overly nerdy bunch! :X3:

that's our exact take on the X, & charging infrastructure. We were pretty suspicious going in - that the X could be buggy. It has not failed to meet our suspicions but the SC has done ok at bug fumigation.
Refueling infrastructure was/is the great Tesla trump card for us - & combines well w/CHAdeMO's soso availability - which does ok in a convenience pinch, providing juice in the 'distant' areas - whenever we make those rare multi 100 or multi 1,000-mile trips. Our interstate trip to Park City Utah comes to mind ... as it's a DC CHAdeMO only resort town (with several 9kW - 11kW wall chargers) but it worked. Such trips would be inconvenient without the availability of both.
