This note is for everyone but some members of PCD. When I saw a posting from Edmunds about 'why people buy hybrids,' it seemed too strange and disconnected from what I knew GreenHybrid members were about. So I put in a poll, asking the Edmunds claims with multiple answers, and 54 voted:39 Gas prices 26 New technology 24 Environment 24 Replace a car 12 Tax credits and perks 6 Ride quality 3 Make a statement 3 Other (please list) When an article comes up with some characterization of hybrid owners that doesn't sound right, the best answer is to design a poll. Simply address their claims, up to 20 questions with multiple answers, and make it available to the membership. The results give a basis of estimate, background, and even though we are self-selected, our poll will often have more accuracy than what the original article claims. Bob Wilson
