i recently bought a used 21 prime Le, got a charge cord off amazon but it wont charge, chargers light stays solid green meaning "charge complete" car registers i plugged in a cable, i hear clicks from under seat (softer, not like the main contactor at startup) but no charge, ive tried a public charger and it did same thing, and said it was waiting for car to start so it seems it may be either the 12v is not strong enough (I put a jump pack and tried, still nothing changed) or the onboard charger is dead, any way to test that thing besides swapping? I have ordered a second higher-end cable in case that's the issue at home. and ill try a second local charger to see whats issue, but any ideas?
Try disconnecting your 12v battery for a few minutes, which will reset all the computer settings back to when it rolled off the assembly line... Also, I suspect there's a bunch of things that the car has to confirm before safely charging and that should be in your owner's manual or available on here via a web search.
Please read the manual. Solid green means it's actively charging. There's three blue status lamps on the passenger side top dash. If you pop open one of the doors, the MID should display how long it's going to take for a full charge. If there is an actual problem; Toyota covers that portion of the car for 10 years or 150K miles; I believe. You get a slightly longer warranty in a CARB state, which Texas is NOT. Good Luck. BTW; I wouldn't disconnect the battery to erase potential errors codes that Toyota may need to diagnose your issue; if any....
