I have a friend who is wanting to sell this 05 prius. I wanted to print out a flyer for the prius. He keeps getting people who are very poorly educated on the prius. He's trying to sell the car for a decent price.

What i'm posting about is an idea for " prius selling points" a flyer that would semi explain the benifits of a prius from a financial or asthetics point of view. enviromental point of view is given. We could also use this paper to advertise priuschat.

My idea is something along the lines of this...

    ...
The battery is estimated to last the life of the car.

The Transmission will last the life of the car

The engine is extimated to last 500,000 miles

Oil changes only have to be performed every 5,000 miles

    ...

get the idea? what are selling point of this car that puts it above all other cars.

we could make these little flyers to target different crowds.

    ...
45-65 (passing speed) is faster than a Porsche Boxter

Electric A/C compresser doesn't rob your engine of horsepower
    ...

So.. my post is a little scattered.. but i feel you get the idea. :?

have you checked on John1701a.com yet? He's got 2 or 3 items that should be well suited. At one point I also had another 'bullet list' sheet that sounds almost exactly like what you want.

Only problem is I have no idea where that list is, or if I saved it (I usually do).

I'll check around over the next 24 hours if you remind me and try to locate it, but I think John's site is your best bet for a starting place.

Also, you can go by the Toyota dealer in your area and ask for a handful of the glossy brochures to use.

We had that same idea 2.5 years ago. See...

And note that I actually had to fight against some Prius owners stating $1.65 per gallon was too high of a price to use for my calculations. (Apparently, I should have fought harder for an even higher price.)

Also note that by amazing cosmic coincidence I was going to discuss the creation of a version for the HSD Prius at tomorrow's Minnesota Gathering. Your timing is remarkable.

my laptop is lagging too much right now to look. thanks you two. John... did you happen to mention little tricks.. like fuel economy.. the point that there is a brake in period for fuel economy. nobody i meet knows this and it's a big selling point that the more miles you drive, the better your gas mileage will get.

    Hi folks,
I made up my own flyers, which I hand to anyone who is interested enough to ask about the Prius.
The lack of knowledge of the Prius/hybrids is common among the general public.
I print the two sheets as a double sided A4 sheet, enclose in plastic and carry them in the door pocket.
I tried to attached a copy of the file here, ( Open Office format), but it wouldn't accept the *.sxw extension .
Maybe if anyone is interested, I can send it attached to an Email.
Open Office files should be readable with MS Office.

    Regards,
    kenmac

The details of the document are available as a webpage too...

By the way, keep in mind that the links above will be changing very soon. Right now, they apply to Classic. Later, they will be for HSD.

*.sxw is an Open Office text file.

    D-N-R, Do Not Resuscitate?

Well, I guess any combination wouldn't be good:
    NDR- Non Delivery Report.
    RND- Random?

Some other points might be misleading as written, such as regenerative braking suggesting you're getting a free charge of the battery. It is only supplimental, unless going down a long hill, but then you have to get back up it again.

    DanMan,

D-N-R ..... I can think of a few more, but will refrain!
Seriously, are you saying that any normal car person doesn't know the meaning of the D-N-R- (P)
    as in automatic transmissions??

    Re the Regen braking.
In the context that it was meant, i.e. "what is different" compared to normal cars in the same mode (decellerating), it is "no cost" when it is actually occurring, not using any fuel.
Of course, you are correct when considering the overall picture - in that case the Regen. really only plays a small part.
The flyer is really only intended to show the differences between the Prius and normal cars.
Anyway, it was only posted as an example of how we can push the message when Toyota is not doing so!
Having it available when confronted about the Prius, it saves me a lot of repeated talk time!

My friend's kids remember PRNDL, pronounced prindle from a sitcom, forget which. Do you know your PRNDL?

Don't mind me, I tend to nitpick too much sometimes.
