An EV will get you there quicker. Especially if it's a Toyota.

In Australia's far North, it's a 120km drive from Darwin to Cox's Peninsula, even though you can see the Peninsula from Darwin.

Frustrating. And if you've only got a few percent left on your EV battery, it is bound to induce range anxiety, as there are very few rapid chargers in such a remote location.

But if you have the right EV, you can take a shortcut. All you need is an FJ40 EV conversion and misplaced confidence that a croc or a shark won't get you, and you'll be fine.

Do you have to fill the tires with concrete?

I don't know. They must have done something to weigh it down.

    Probably water.
Easier to remove after you're back on land.

    Just water.
The battery alone might be enough.

I'd rather stick with the James Bond Lotus

    No concrete tires required

    Yeah.
Just make sure you don't take it down too deep, or you might not get it back in one piece.

    Water is HEAVY!
You can't squeeze it much either.....

I have always wanted one of these. It would make the school run so much more fun.

I had a toy one when I was a kid. It was one of my favourites. I think it's still my favourite Bond car, ahead of even the DB5 (which i also had a toy of, with the ejector seat and everything).
