Just wanted to post about this antenna mod.

Why: Cleaner look, people can't steal the OEM antenna, More aerodynamic (get 0.001% more MPG)

How: Simply unscrew the OEM antenna, and screw the M5-.8 screw antenna by hand.

Where to buy: Home Depot has the "M5-.8" screw that was 10mm long. A 8mm or even a 6mm length screw would work better but home depot didn't have it.

Cost: 2 screws cost only 63 cents after tax.

Conclusion: Cheap antenna mod, that looks great and way cheaper than "shark" style antenna. I tested and AM / FM / SAT work great with this tiny antenna.

Notes: Some people mentioned in another post just unscrew the OEM antenna. But if you don't put this screw antenna in there then water and debris can go into where the antenna screws in.

To each his own I guess.......but there is a reason that the antenna is what it was.
Your reception in "fringe" areas will be much worse......especially on AM.
If you don't listen to AM much you might be fine.
