All Prius owners in the Bay area and Sacramento area should be aware that Windshield Washer fluid with proper protection is unavailable. One can only purchase WW Fluid with a protection factor of +32F. The Sacramento County City Fathers decided that WW Washer fluid with better protection was anti-green, environmentally dangerous? Who knows? So by all means if you are headed this way DO NOT stop or hesitate in Sacramento. If you have planned purchases, then stop in Auburn. They do sell it there. Sacramento County does not want your business. Enjoy your trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, ski-ing or gambling, all products are cheaper in Reno. :cheer2:

I don't get it, methanol is the thing that keeps the washer fluid from freezing. While very toxic, it isn't really all that bad for the environment as it's half like is like a week?

This is the exact sort of thing that impinges negatively on the economy. People (the county administrators) sticking thier noses into areas they know nothing of: they don't get it either! Imagine the damage Washington does!
