    Watching "For your Eyes Only" while surfing here. I think the Lotus' they used in this film are maybe my fav Bond cars. All of the cars are always so cool and with all kinds of gadgets. I have about 90% of all the movies (on VHS,now need to buy all DVD's,haha) plus an extra one I picked up free at Best Buy when I purchased my last Bond DVD a couple of years back. It is on all the Bond girls and has one of them interviewing all the women that have played thru the years. Really informative show. It is really hard to pick a fav show, but the one I am watching is one of them. Anybody else a Bond nut? :roll:

    I've always found it interesting what people prefer which Bonds -- e.g., Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan. (Lazenby. :D )

    It may be generational, or it may be a litmus test of something; I just can't figure out what.

    On the "cat lover" PriusChat thread, we were discussing Ernst Starvros Bloefeld as a career choice; but on consideration, I think I prefer Dr. No.

    umm... in a movie sense that is ...

    have you seen Modern Marvels on the history channel? they devoted 2 shows to the gadgets that were seen in the movies. they talked about what was real and which werent and how many ideas THE MOVIES gave the CIA for some of its high tech equipment.

    in fact on the movie where James had the "rebreather" a device that he used underwater to breathe with. it was supposed to be able to take oxygen out of the water for him to use. well, the CIA called the producer of the movie asking him where they got theirs!!

    well the rebreather was purely movie magic...

    You bet. Goldfinger was the best movie...IMO. But love them all.

    The first 3 (Connery) films -- Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger -- are my favorites.

    But I also liked the first Dalton film (The Living Daylights) -- I never could take Roger Moore as Bond. Brosnan's a bit better, but I find those films lukewarm, though they've been improving.

    I do recommend On Her Majesty's Secret Service if you get a chance -- it has some good spots that make it worth seeing. I can't take Lazenby, but almost all of the rest of it is pretty good. Particularly Diana Rigg, Telly Savalas as Bloefeld, and the Alps.

    Can't think of a fav Bond (Connery, Moore,Bronsan,etc.) they all have their traits. Watched "Best of Bond" on the Encore channel this morning. They had the top 10 Bond moments. Number 1 was the scene in Goldfinger where Sean was tied to a table and a laser beam was making its way up to his jewels. Don't know who did the voting, but I would have picked something else. Hard to pick number one. And they even left out the 180 degree roll with the AMC in the one movie( drawing a blank here?)! Roger Moore stared in it and had a southern sheriff in the car with him. Maybe India? Golden Eye is another fav of mine. I heard that Bronsan is not going to be Bond anymore. I thought he did a good job playing the part.

    Brosnan said he would do another but in an interview i saw, he felt that he would not be invited back.

    rumours has hugh jackman being the next bond... he would make a good one i think.

    Agreed -- he can play that ruthless look about him, which is what I think anyone portraying Bond requires. (I always felt Moore lacked that -- he just played The Saint for X films.)

    On the other hand, Jackman is an incredibly talented actor, and does a lot of stage work (musicals!) Don't know if he'd want to take up the part.

    I'm a fan, so much so that my vanity plate says so. Plus the fact the Prius is such a 'gadget/future' car, I had to go with the Bond reference. I believe The Man With The Golden Gun had the AMC car roll stunt. Simply awesome! Favorite of mine is GoldenEye, the 1st Brosnan Bond. All of Brosnan's were good. Kinda rejuvenated the series, IMHO. Sure got me to watch and start collecting the DVDs. Brosnan 1st, then Sean Connery ranks second as Bond, then Moore, Dalton, and Lazenby. Lots of great extra features on the DVDs. Now if only I could get the ejector seat (need a sunroof 1st!) and the stinger missles behind the headlites (compatible with HID?)...

    Cool plate! I have most all the VHS's and got Golden Eye on DVD. Now to get the rest(what to do with the tapes?) :roll:

    ebay, secondspin.com, local pawn shop, or donate to some charity (not sure which one would have the 'need'). I sold (traded) most of my VHS to secondspin.com. Easy to use. Just type in your movie, they show u what they'll give ya, then box them up and ship them off. Either cash or credit towards other media on the website. All without leaving your home. Well, except for the shipping part, but do that on the way home form work and you're combining trips in the Prius!

    Come on folks! Don't tell me that you've forgotten Woody Allen as young Jimmy Bond in Casino Royale? :popcorn:

    One of my favorite Bond stunts was the speedboat race through the swamps that actually set a Guinness record for longest speedboat jump.

    Being the inquisitive mind that I have, I had to check things out,hehe.

    Your right finman, the 180 was in The Man with the Golden Gun. And how about those boats with the inline engines on a stick. Pretty cool!

    And pkjohna (Woody Allen as JB! No way! ), the boat scene I believe was the one in Live and Let Die.

    Finally, did anybody notice in Diamonds Are Forever, during the chase thru Las Vegas in a Mach 1, when he goes in the alley on 2 wheels? He exits out the other side on the opposite 2 wheels! Now how did he do that in such a narrow alley,hmm? :roll:

    well ill always be a fan of Dr. No, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice, but the best of the new ones (Tomorrow Never Dies) has to be the one with James and the remote control car/cellphone gadget. that was cool but the opening jet fighter scene has to be one of my faves

    You Only Live Twice is great because it was one of the first "extreme makeovers" (james actually played out that song Turning Japanese) and one of my fave gadgets Little Jenny (the mini flying helicopter)

    Not a favorite film -- sort of the Heaven's Gate of the late 60s -- but I do love the theme song by Herb Alpert and the Tijiuana Brass.
