I might opt to buy hankooks at sears. Was wondering if I should have the alignment done at dealership. Is there any reason to go with dealership alignment over a Sears?

    Thanks

Only if you like paying more. I only go to a dealership as a last resort.

How likely is it that Sears will have the Toyota diagnostic laptop to perform the steering sensor zero-point calibration?

My guess is that this is quite unlikely. Therefore in this case I'd recommend you have the alignment done at the Toyota dealer.

Right Patrick - I was pretty sure there was something I was ignorant about and your response is the type of response I was looking for. Thanks for posting - that pretty much is all I needed to hear.

***you do not need to have your car aligned when you buy new tires, just HAVE YOUR TIRES balanced.

I just had 4 new hankook 727's TIRES installed on my 2008 a week ago with no alignment, car goes straight as an arrow.
