I put the Xpel film on my GII. The installation was a little difficult on the first light due to the compound curve but went great on the second light. I'm going to do it again on the GIII but with the unusual contour to the lights I was wondering if someone else has already done it and could give me some tips. I did a search and it looks like there isn't anyone that has done it.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    G

Like you I installed it on my GII but after looking at the lights on the GIII I have decided to wait and use the 3M Lens Renewal Kit if necessary.

3M Lens Renewal Kit, headlights polish, plastic headlight polish, polish plastic lens, plasic polish scratch remover

Thanks for the tip. However I wasn't worried about it getting chipped, hazed so much as broken. We have alot of gravel on the roads and it is a real possibility. I have $1k deductible so I figured I had better do a little preventative maint.

    I'll post how it goes.

I installed the Xpel on my Sienna with the same kind of contour. The trick was to do it on a hot day that made the Xpel very flimsy and easy to shape and fold around the lights also use plenty of slip spray solution. Spray your hands as well as the plastic. This keeps finger prints from showing up on the sticky side of the plastic.

People have used hair dryers but it's hard to keep the whole Xpel evenly warm to soften it up.

Like you the first one is not the best the other is perfect. Yes the protection from rocks is important to me.

Thanks, I won't be able to have a warm day till next summer but I have a big heater in my garage. I can get it up to 80 in there if I do it in the next couple of weeks. I used a hair dryer last time so will do that again. I'll start with the funky shaped turn signals to see how that goes.

Did the manufacturer have anyone that could help you with the installation process?

I didn't ask. I assumed they would direct me to a "certified" installer. Maybe I'll check.

Same as Greylar, gravel roads and high deductables.

I have Clear Shield on the front (front of hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, etc) it's the same thing as Clear Bra by a different manufacturer. When the installer put it on he also covered my headlights, took him quite a while because of the compound curves.

That's been over a year ago and it has worked out great. So you might check with your favorite local tint shop.

In case anyone is from my part of the country I had mine done by Different Shades in Kennewick, WA. $600 for everything. I don't know what he would charge for just the headlights, probably not to much.
