    Apophallation=the chewing off of a penis.

    oddly, someone has spent a lot of time studying how slugs chew off their penises (and vaginas also since they are hermaphrodites) for their Ph. D. comes complete with videos at:

    It's not that I'm interested, it's just that it's different. I love being hit with odd facts or tidbits I might never hear of, as opposed to tedious, beaten down, "normal" topics you'll forget in 5 minutes, so I figured I'd share. :)

    The research is interesting and the result reported bizarre. A bananna slug (fairly phallic in its own right) suffers Priapism, so chews off the offending organ. EWWWWW! <_<

    This thread is certainly WAY off-topic for a car site, but in my opinion, no more than gay rights, politics, religion, and the myriad other off-topic threads we've seen pop up here in FHOP.

    I received a "notifiy a Moderator" email about this thread and I'm going to allow it for now. Granted, every other Moderator (and site owner) received the same email and can trump me if they see fit.

    It actually is an interesting article. We are all God's creatures and this is clear evidence that she certainly has one Hell of a sense of humor.

    As for the posts to this thread, keep it clean.

    I've got no intention of using my trump card here Tony. I think it's off topic, even for Fred's, but just b/c the post contains the word "Penis" doesn't make it dirty or pornographic or anything like that. MysterySquid likes to test his limits and he knew this one would do it quite nicesly. But I'm with Tony, this will run it's course.

    Wait. I'm a little confused.

    As to how this topic might even remotely be considered too off topic. :mellow:

    I read the guidelines first, and it's pretty clear. The only thing I was concerned about was the word "penis", but judged that within this particular context, it was perfectly acceptable, and made some effort to mask it from the main topic title, just to play it safe.

    Apparently, whomever reported the post maybe needs to be refreshed on the stated guidelines (heck, it appears even flaming is allowed :lol: ):

    At least they don't attack your penis. Check out these Amazon fish. Might be good to have a few in your swimming pool. They would definitely stop people from peeing in it. Hope this isn't too far off topic.
