I received a letter today from the VA (you can read it here), regarding the personal data that was on the laptop, which was stolen, of a VA employee. The laptop contained personal data on veterans, including names and SSNs. The letter emphasizes that no one from the VA will ever contact a veteran asking form or confirming personal information. The VA has set up an informational website at www.firstgov.gov
