I was curious if hooking-up add-on audio components such as amps was different in the Prius. In other words, would these components connect to the 12 V system just like any other car? Or is there something else that I need to be aware of before hooking up a couple of modest amps?

    thanks for your thoughts.

Other than not going crazy and adding too much stuff, it's just like a regular when connecting stuff. If you are just adding a couple of modest amps, you should have nothing to worry about. You can use the battery in the trunk to access the 12V power.

Would there be any need to use the front fuse box? I know the 12 Volt jumper is there.

If you're hooking up an amp or two, just connect it to the 12V battery in the back. Just make sure you fuse the line going to the amp.
