Tesla is going to run out of its federal tax credit soon after reaching the 200,000 units sold mark. So the automaker is putting the word out that if you place an order for a Tesla by October 15th, you’ll still be eligible for the full credit and get your car before the end of the year. Tesla has struggled with production and a big jump in orders could strain the company even more, but damn if it’s not a smart way to boost sales as much as possible before the year is out.

This means Tesla has until the end of the year to hand out full tax credits, which could invite a further rush of orders and hit the company’s already strained production and delivery chain.

    So I replied:

Damn, I saw a local Ford dealer ad on TV this morning. G*d damn, there was a GM ad too. So our new style guide is to curse when a car maker tries to increase sales?

Perhaps we should find something better than “damn” to express grudging astonishment

Sorry if I've violated local standards just I don't cotton to double standards.

Well, they ARE sponsored at least in part by the traditional Auto industry & @ least 1 oil company, so it stands to reason. No one wants to get their source of income P. O.'d ~
