Awd fuel economy

    I was curious about that new all-wheel-drive model and how the fuel economy compares to standard Prius prime?

    I think if you’re using a Prime in hybrid-only mode, the best fuel economy order would be Prius Prime, Prius, and Prius AWD, but not a large difference.

    @Salamander_King has done some work on prime hybrid only mpg's, maybe there's an awd mpg thread, idk.

    You want to compare the pure HV fuel economy of PP vs Prius eAWD? Since PP is not available in AWD, there is no direct comparison. EPA number for PP is slightly better than Gen4 except for the base Eco model which is the best. The eAWD is worse than regular Gen4. Your mileage may vary, but in general, these EPA numbers are correct. You will get some fuel efficiency hit on eAWD model. FFIW, with my PP, I get ~46 mpg (on the dash) on a highway at a sustained speed of 75mph with absolutely no help from the traction battery charge (Engine only mpg). see this thread:Engine only MPG | Page 2 | PriusChat

    nope. haven't even heard any rumours iirc, but i could be mistaken. if they could squish another motor in back there, they'd be magicians.
    is suburu making one with prime parts?

    That might still be fine. I was interested in it for my wife as a commuter, I seem to average 60 something on the highway running as a hybrid which is just fine. I think it’s a nice driving car even for long trips, despite what some of the reviews say

    I think it GREAT on long trips. So far, two of them. One to AZ, MN, CO. WY, NE, IA, etc that was over 6,000 miles. The other was to Maine and it was over 4,000 miles. 700-1000 mile days are not a problem at all. Over 56 mpg on both trips, too.

    I bought my prime last July and just clicked over 25k miles, we drive the snot out of it. I put 4 snows on it and it did great driving to go skiing, it’s a great car
